Nardy and O'Day Tech. Reading

Throughout this reading I came to the conclusion that Nardy and O'Day were centering the subject of discussion on how everyday civilians connect with the rise in technology. This caught my eye because of the many different scenarios that were mentioned and how the world responded to them. Some of the scenario were cloning, technological advances in many medical situations, and much more. With these instances and many more there is that gap between the understanding of people and the rapid growth of technology. With that gap there is a lack in knowledge for us to understand every step that is taken in advancing technology. There is always that unknown of the future. I think this fact is one of the main reasons for misunderstanding and doubt. Most of us are incapable of carrying on a conversation about new technologies. Therefore with this lack in opinion most people do not think they have a say in where the advances go. This could also be the reason that most people think technology is so overpowering to our society and how we communicate. We tend to think that it empowers the way we go about our everyday lives because of our lack of knowing what it is going to be in the future.  In conclusion, the overall appeal of this reading is about technology and how we are not closely connected to its advances. I think that it brought about a new outlook on technology because most people do not think of it in this matter.
